Sunshine & Stone On Glass
Sunshine & Stone On Glass are two concept façades that architect Greg Ramirez and Maja Petrić created for Formica’s series of innovative laminate applications. Sunshine is a pavilion that includes both open and closed space and it consists of bench that expands into a bed. The surface of pavilion is covered with Formica’s laminate that is strategically perforated with placeholders for LEDs. The yellow LEDs are programmed to light up when human presence is detected in proximity of the wall. As such light creates effect of sunshine appearing in response to human presence. Stone On Glass uses Formica’s concrete and stone looking laminate to cover the upper part of column made of glass.
The concept designs won second place among 500 submissions in DISONANCIAS 2006 contest.
