Eyes Of The Skin
Eyes Of The Skin* is a collaborative project between choreographer Jennifer Salk and me. Together, in our own media, we explored the often twisted and delicate nature of tenderness that is defined as a tendency to express warm or compassionate feelings. I focused on depicting the dichotomy of tenderness that ranges between pleasure and pain by creating a large scale wall that cracked over the course of the dance performance. As the wall was cracking, it was letting more light come through. *Title of the dance performance is inspired by Juhani Pallasmaa’s book Architecture and the Senses: The eyes of the skin.
